Omg, We've got power. I'm like- so happy. The Ice-Stom is passing and we can have HEAT again! (Yes, we have not had heat since 5:30 this morning! 10 hours with no power today...)
But it was kinda funny. The School system is STUPID. They sent us to school yesterday. And we walked into pitch-black hallways. Even the emergency system was dead, how sad is that? The teachers were standing along the halls with flashlights ushering everyone into the commons...We should have KNOWN not to come when my car door wouldn't open (I ended up riding to school with mum cuz it started raining too...We did actually get the door open. But my car doesn't do so well in rain..) But at any rate, the emergency system kicked in just before the tardy bell for homeroom rang. Tardies weren't counted to say the least. Full power came on halfway through hhomeroom. It flickered on and off all through first period. It died five minutes into second period. What's funny is I was supposed to take a calculus test that period, but you can't take a calc test with no emergency lights, two tiny windows on an overcast day, and one mini-maglight. Does not work. Power did not return, but we had a lesson 3rd period about using the Ecchi machines...which require electriciy. How dumb. Other than that, we conversed all three periods. They FINALLY started sending people home after 3rd- 11:00. A wasted morning if I do say so myself! But then we drive over three powerlines on the way home and under the arch of a tree that had bent over the road.
Power goes off HERE at 3:30-4:00 yesterday. We build a fire for warmth. Get bored, play LotR Movie Trivia Pursuit. It gets dark. We have no means of sight aside from the fire and a lot of Yankee Candles. We go to get Pizza, then go to Exerds because it's a 45 min wait. We act like dorks in Exerds and get Emergency Candles. We're dumb and don't get fashlights/ Just candles and batteries for my very old radio. So then we get the pizza and hear on the radio that school's cancelled. Me, Bird, and Lucy get out of the car and do a happy dance before jumping back in the car because it's too cold.
We eat Pizza at home. POwer returns around 8:30. Steven and I play Baldur's Gate Dark Alliance 2 until 11 upon which time we go to sleep. (Mum didn't want to drive him home in the dark-ice)
POwer is out upon awakening this morning. Mum has already started the fire. We have been to Exerds 4 times, returning later, Dunkin Donuts once, and Walmart once. We were very bored.
Power is back. I'm going to play video games.
