themegaloo: (Glee- Kurt- Oh what even!)
Yeah so I said "DON'T GET USED TO IT" and then there was a friending meme at [livejournal.com profile] caffrey_burke and I realized that I've added something like ten new friends in the past WEEK. So I should, just possibly, do a little intro of sorts.

So yes! Hello! I'm Meg, which is...pretty easy to figure out and I am, obviously, a big fan of Merlin and White Collar, though I've only actually completed fic for the former. I read fic far more often than I write it and am a complete fandom butterfly. By which I mean that I watch a lot of different shows, I have an on-going to-watch list that never seems to get shorter, and get fandom-ly interested in about half of them. By which I mean I pick a handful of pairings that appeal to me and read pretty much everything available on them. Currently working my way through Puck/Kurt, because they're adorable.

My primary fandoms (at the moment) are Merlin (Merlin/Arthur), White Collar (Peter/Neal and OT3), Chuck (Chuck/Bryce) and Glee (Puck/Kurt). Harry Potter is always a fallback and I'll go through spurts of reading/rereading fic every few months or so, and we so aren't talking pairings in that fandom. Recent fandoms that I'll return to a lot are Doctor Who (gen), Torchwood (gen, Jack/Ianto) and Star Trek (gen, Kirk/McCoy, Sulu/Chekov, McCoy/Chekov, Spock/Kirk...etc). I'm a walking fic rec for all of the above pairings. Seriously, if you want recs, ask and ye shall receive pretty damn quickly. I would cite delicious pages or bookmarks, but I don't really use either--I just have a really good memory. I mostly lurk and read, constantly, but I have written a few fics, done one fanvid and have a pretty handy newbie's HTML guide to fandom on LJ floating around in this journal. And I play in RPGs as a wide variety of characters. /BREATHES.

I also make layouts. And will make them for people provided I can do it in Smooth Sailing and I'm provided with a picture and basic idea of what's wanted.

Sooo that's the fandom/LJ side of me, I suppose. On a more personal level, I'm 23, living with my parents after having spent the last year living in Ireland, working on a masters which I got sent off back in November after some massive screw-ups with the bindery--seriously, don't ask. I have a boyfriend who thinks it's awesome that I'm as much of a geek as I am. Actually, I haven't seen him in a few days because he just got a new video game. We're pretty well matched in the nerd department which is working really well. I've been jobhunting since the new year and I'm just about done with an application for a second, more useful masters program. I currently have a BA in English and an M.Phil in Anglo-Irish Literature, neither of which really groom me for an actual JOB, though are useful in a wide variety of fields. So I'm told. I'm planning to get my NEXT degree in Archival Science, which I have a passion for and looks to be more obviously tailored to the Real World.

I am a professional student and don't really know how to be anything else yet.

Things that come up in here are fandom, of course, and stuff about where I'm living, people I meet, jobs I'm trying to get, schools that put me through application hell, etc. It's pretty straight forward, I suppose!! I'm a crap commenter a lot of times, but I read everything on my flist. ♥ It's probably easiest to really get to know me on AIM, but I have terrible internet shyness so I probably won't seek you out to IM. I'm on there a lot if you're ever bored though!

Yeaaaah, gonna stop now. MEDALS TO ANYONE WHO MADE IT THROUGH THAT!
