You know, it would be nice if my body didn't hate me sometimes.

I came to the conclusion a long time ago that I like living in cities with public transport and walking. It's nice. Relaxing. I enjoy driving, but it's fun not to HAVE to drive myself places. Not that I've hardly driven at all since September with that short stint of it at home, but you get the picture. I'm used to it now.

The problem is that when you do something unknown to your FOOT so that it hurts every time you put weight on it, this becomes far less fun as you, well. HAVE TO WALK.

I know when it happened but I have no idea WHAT happened. It happened when I was walking home from city centre on Friday. I just felt like it, but then my foot started to hurt and about a 25-minute walk from halls I consented to hop on a bus for the rest of the way because, well. My foot hurt. I figured it was just because I had decided to go on a nice long walk, more walking than I usually do, and I was tired.

The next day, my foot feels like it's cramped. After a while, it's alright. So I didn't think much of it.

Yesterday I woke up and could. not. walk. So I didn't. I hobbled around halls all day which suited me just fine for a Sunday. But today I had to go to CLASS. Took the bus in, which made me late but the prof was even later so that was alright. However walking on cobble stones with an injured foot is not fun. In any sense of the word. By the time I made it there I was almost crying. It hurt so much more than that time when I tried to snap my ankle in half by repeated twistings (also all while WALKING) 3 years ago. AND THEN THERE WERE STAIRS. Which I sucked it up an managed alright going UP but I whimpered at the prospect of going back DOWN and went very, very slowly. Thankfully I'd been sitting and had my weight OFF the foot for a good hour at this point.

And of COURSE I had to go and Get Things today as well. Needed a Becket book and painkillers and a cold compress. In all of this walking I tried to twist my OTHER ankle while trying to not look like I was hurting as much as I was. It. Sucked. Hopefully this clears up soon. If not I'll go have someone look at it. But eurgh. It doesn't feel like anything's broken, just pulled and a bit swollen. It is IRRITATING.

Thankfully, there are awesome things from this weekend as well. But we shan't get into all those just yet. I want to see what happens, but I like where things are going right now. More on that later on!
