The whole Grad-School-As-Soon-As-I-Finish is sort of falling through right now. Lot of reasons. Makes me upset. Not going into it.

So basically, I need another year to get everything together and take the rest of the tests and get a BETTER VERBAL SCORE OMFG FAIL, SELF. Yeah. Sucks. Whatever/

So I need something to DO in that year.

Here are some of my options:
- Go to the employment thingy on campus and say "HEY, FIND ME SOMETHING PLEASE?"
- Work some shit job/stay at my current job and make some shit money.
- Find some sort of internship somewhere.
- Go to Culinary School. (I like this one)
- Work on a cruise ship. (Preferable as part of the production team for the theatre stuffs)

I am currently leaning towards the boat thing, but a few hours ago I was leaning towards the food thing and now I basically have no idea. It's kind of exciting though, whereas a few hours ago it was just downright terrifying.

Now I'm requesting that YOU LOT come out of your hiding holes and actually tell me what you think. Am I nuts for wanting to live on a boat for several months at a time? Do you have some genius other idea? Seriously. Would love to hear it.

Well I wouldn't count as living on a boat as something you could do to travel. I'm sure it would be fun but it's still a JOB so don't think of it as an extended vacation.

Though. I think that's what I'd do if I were you.

Hahaha, yes, I KNOW it's a job. But with any luck, it's something I've done successfully before on land and have always loved doing. PLUS I'm given to understand you can actually get out and see a bit at the different ports.

It's really really tempting. And I ought to have a good shot.

You can get out?! Well that kind of changes everything.

Yeah. If you hate it, can you get out of it?

YEAH. Not with like, the drudge jobs but I don't WANT those. Things like the casino means you can ALWAYS get out because the casino cant operate in port, etc! And they don't do shows while everyone's off the boat, so yeah! SEEING THINGS.

Well, once you're in, I guess you're in for the contract. But that's only like, 4-6 months. I'm pretty damn tolerant of bullshit. So if after that I hate it, I can always do something else until it's time to get my schooling back on, you know? And I won't be BROKE.

WELL THEN. You are definitely putting some thought into this. Which is smart because you shouldn't make a big job decision with no thought.

Yeah. 4-6 isn't too bad. I think you can do it. GO GO GO!

Go to culinary school.
...And take me with you.

Plus if you go to culinary school (and take me with you) you (we) can write a cookbook. With your (our) fantastic English abilities.

Think about the possibilities.

Hahaha. Not too bad of an idea, though I think I'd settle for you know, cooking EXISTENT recipes and all before I go haring off writing new ones.

And I really am leaning towards ze boat. boat boat boat!

Hahaha fabulous.

The boat sounds wonderful. I'd choose the cooking over the boat, for me. But for you the boat suits you :)

As long as you don't drown!

DEFINITELY do either cooking school or the boat. You will never regret it as long as you live, if you're anythign like me.

Also, don't stress. You have plenty of time. I had a year off and I'm 31. ♥

I think we've established that I AM...twin~ <3

And hey. I can do the boat for a while, go to grad school, do the culinary school at some point in there and just be one of the most interesting profs ever for the rest of my life!

The cruise ship idea sounds like an incredible experience. Yeah, it's a job and not a vacation but it sounds like a REALLY COOL job. The whole thing sounds really exciting!!! I just had half a year off with no school or work and I kind of regret not doing anything particularly awesome with it (well, there was Brawl, but that wasn't particularly adventurous :P). I hope you can use your time to do something super-nifty like the last two options on your list. ♥

That's exactly what's got me so excited about the idea. COOL job, COOL places...

I vote cruise ship! You'll get to see places (as mentioned above), get to do something you love on a boat (as mentioned above), meet lots of people (the majority of which will be jerks, but that's the way it is on land, too), and eat cruise food. The only drawback I see is that cruise ships are the easiest places to catch diseases. Bring a large stash of Advil Cold & Sinus and you should be ok.

I'll have to start calling you Meg the Adventurous, since my friend Katie the Adventurous will be home from Africa soon.

Love!

Hahaha oh man. That is a very good point. I will be sure to stock up!! And as I see it, I'm pretty good with rude idiots. :D

Haha! I think I can live with that title. ;)

Cruise ship, methinks. I mean. How many people get to do what they love on a cruise ship and get paid for it? Er. I mean, there might be some rude people and seasickness could be a hassle, but I think that this is a pretty awesome chance to take.

Zomg you live! I am impressed. :D

And in mt experience, it takes some pretty ridiculous sea- action that you never get on cruise boats to actually make me queasy. SO I think that's a good sign! :D

Personally, cruise ships are amazing. I was on one last year, and it was just breathtaking the entire time. And really, any seasickness you may have goes away after the first few days. AND the food's pretty damn good, too, even if you're an employee I'm sure because cruise ships are just full of rich people! Meaning there's probably no bad food on the boat to begin with. Or maybe that's just BS XD;

ANYWAY. I say go for the cruise ship. From what I saw, employees are treated pretty well. If you can get over thinking that you're walking drunk down the hallways anytime the ship is moving, then you'll do fine! XDDD;
