I accidentally managed to throw a party last night. It totally wasn't on my to-do list and parties here? Are usually either planned by a group effort or Carie. But no. Not this time. And it was on ACCIDENT.

The original plan was that me and Joe were going to pick up some interesting beer to drink, stuff we hadn't tried before. Cause that sort of thing's fun. And we were just gonna chill and watch OP and stuff. And then Michael called and invited me over to dinner [which was home-made shrimp scampi and very good] with a couple of his friends, one who I'd met a few times before, the other being his girlfriend who randomly ended up being someone I know from German class. So after that, we ended up back here and doing the beer swap with MORE people and then some other friends called up looking for something to do and THEY came over and well. Yeah. Accidental party thing!

After everyone else left we finally DID watch some OP and then Joe crashed on the couch.

When I woke up today I walked out to this message on the chalkboard:

And life is good.

IT REALLY IS. And somehow I've never managed to make friends suitably NERDY to be up to the task before. The last time I had this much fun about something fandomy IRL was when I read Lord of the Rings for the first time and DORKED OUT HARDCORE about it with my dad. *__*

Yes. My dad. XD He's all of the above for us too, with a damn good head for details, which makes talking about things with him downright fascinating sometimes!

I remember being trapped in the car with him the day he finished the sixth Harry Potter book and he was frustrated because he wanted to DISCUSS it and I hadn't read it yet.
