I don't think I can adequately express how much I love my roommates, my apartment, my friends and just my life in general right now. It's pretty much a perfect situation for me. I loved my roommate from last year very dearly, but let's face it. We never actually connected that much. And she and her boyfriend had been close friends with my nasty ex for longer than I'd known him. Hell, her boyfriend LIVED ACROSS THE HALL with said ex. Even though they both spent the majority of the time at my place and were growing to understand my side moreso than his....it could be a pretty awkward situation.

My rooming situation this year was so incredibly unplanned. I'd signed up for a random roommate in the dorms, but I really just wanted out. Two of the girls in the show I was working on mentioned that they needed a third roommate. I leapt at the chance and holy hell. Lifechanging much?

Let's take the last week for instance. It's finals, which clearly means hell. And our way of coping with it has been to study and work en masse in the living room. Jokes would fly, we'd put various CDs on, papers and books everywhere, death threats aimed at JD and his ONE FINAL...Probably the best study setting I've ever been in, strangely. Sunday night Carie and I were working like madwomen. She was up the whole night, I eventually gave up and crashed for like. threeish hours. She made sure I got back up in time to go to my final. Last week, I stayed up an entire night to make sure Bailey could stay up and finish. Tomorrow me, Steph, JD and Bailey all have a final at the same time so we're carpooling.

Tonight, Carie cooked one of the most AMAZING dinners. Pork tenderloin, mashed potatoes, brocoli, rice, corn on the cob. All SPICED and amazing. And we watched Pirates 3 and had an amazing time just laughing at everything.

There was one point though where we'd breaked because I had to use the little girls' room like NONE OTHER and JD bolted and beat me to the bathroom. So I ran. And Bailey ran after me trying to beat ME and there was an honest-to-god wrestling match right there in the hallway. She was quite literally ON MY BACK and when the door opened I leaned forward, threw her off and ran in, slamming the door. It was pretty HILARIOUS, to say the least.

After that we were on the front porch and heard a massive crash from the road. Sounded like right outside the complex, almost like someone had HIT THE SIGN so we went to investigate. Halfway there, we hear someone cry for help. There were six up us. Every single one of us broke into a run and BOLTED to see what had happened, making sure at least one of us had a phone.

Someone had hit a motorcycle and taken off. The guy was lying on the curb [ironically right next to the hospital]. We went flying across the road that had bits of motorcycle on it, me and JD in socks, Steph and Riley in sandals, Bailey in slippers, Joe in normal shoes. And like, three other people had stopped and another person from our complex had run out. Basically one cry for help had 10 people running. He ended up pretty alright, for someone who was just in a motorcycle accident. His foot looked pretty banged up and his wrist was probably broken. The bike was leaking gas and whatever else goes in a motorcycle like no tomorrow. But it was pretty okay, all things considered. The cops and ambulance got there pretty quickly and they caught the idiot driver. [it was seriously his fault, the cyclist was driving through the intersection, slowed down, but the guy pulled in front of him anyhow] Steph and I were shaking like leaves. Pretty fucking scary, to be quite honest.

But the point of the matter is that this was at like, 10:30 at night or something. And that many people were willing to stop whatever they were doing and make sure he was alright. It sort of restored a little faith in humanity, you know?
