Bailey and I have a pact. At 5:00pm sharp, we will both be in the living room, we will turn of the TV, we will turn on some mood music, and we will be working/studying. Sounds good, Y/Y? Hahaha. Yeah, that's in 40 minutes. So I shall instead waste some time updating!

I have fallen into a new obsession. To preface this, if you are not keeping up with jack_and_ellis, you should be. I sat down and read it yesterday and fell in absolute love with the entire genre. What genre, praytell, is this?

Why, Steampunk, of course! It's just. Click the link for specifics [if you weren't subjected to my obsessing all night, that is!] Think of FMA, The Golden Compass, War of the Worlds, Wild Wild West...Steam powered technology, a different future of technology, fighting authority in the Victorian Era. It's just genius. Historical fiction with a techno and punkish twist.

I basically got ridiculously excited because HELLO IT'S MY PERFECT AESTHETIC. Victorian and punky and perfect. Goggles! Corsets! Gadgets! Baubles! Awesome lace-up boots with heels! Snazzy jackets! Everything I've liked for years and years but never realized actually belonged together. And even has a name.

Yes, I am ridiculous. But some of this stuff you just have to SEE to believe.

The Steampunk laptop by Datamancer If you don't completely drool over this I refuse to know you anymore. It's so weird and cool and GORGEOUS. Just. Guh. And look all over that site. The KEYBOARDS. Dear god. People. Amaze me.

Amazing Steampunk goggles! I don't care if you don't like goggles. Some of the ones people have made are gorgeous and I was on the verge of buying a pair of $5 goggles with that shape to mod up MYSELF.

JEWLERY. Made with real clock parts and tools and recycled wire. sdkhjdkjg it just looks SO COOL.

Looking at all this has broken my brain because as I fell asleep last night I was thinking how simple it could be to mod a Razer style cellphone into a cigarette case. Not the flippy ones but the flat ones. Originally I was thinking into a emptied out pocket watch. But then you'd have to cross the hinges, because it wouldn't all fit in one side, now would it? My brain is so broken.
