Title: A (Not So) Quiet Night
Pairing: Shanks/Buggy
Rated: PG?
Word Count: 312
Spoilers: Through Buggy's backstory. So NOT MANY.
Warnings: Crack. Duh.
“IDIOT RED-HAIRED BASTARD WHAT’D YOU HAVE TO GO DO THAT FOR?!?”
Shanks simply smiled, popping the last of the ham from that night’s dinner into his mouth. “I was hungry?”
Buggy was not content. “Well. SO WAS I and then you went and ATE it.” Clearly this was not going to shape up to be a quiet night on the Oro Jackson, but what night ever did?
“I worked harder today!” Shanks announced with a grin, licking the last of the juice off his fingers. “I deserved it.”
“You were on watch half the day. How is that supposed to be working HARD?”
“It’s an exercise in mental endurance. Which you wouldn’t know anything about, right?” Shanks grinned, giving his fingers one last lick. Now they just sort of tasted like dirt.
Buggy huffed, “Clearly more than you do if you think watching a big empty ocean is hard work.”
“Well aren’t you a funny one,” Shanks shot back, pinching Buggy’s rather prominent nose.
“…Those fingers were just in your MOUTH, you red-haired idiot bastard!” Buggy’s face was almost as red as his nose—whether it was in anger or embarrassment was hard to tell sometimes.
Shanks simply smirked. Riling his fellow crew member was always fun. Until the favor was returned. And even then it was sort of fun as long as he could get a few good jabs in. “And you liked it so stop complaining!”
Steam very well might have been shooting out Buggy’s ears. Of course his nose drew all the attention so it was hard to tell. “AND I’M NOT A CLOWN!”
“Yeah, yeah, shut up, clown-nose.” He pinched it again. Buggy turned redder.
The rest of the crew really wished Shanks would figure out a way to make him ‘shut up’ without making him actually shout louder.
At least they’d get more sleep that way.
