themegaloo: (Gravi- Hiro- Bored)

A few things!

Firstly, I finally remembered the other amusing story I had intended to relate yesterday:

So, for like, ALL OF LAST YEAR, including the summer, I lived on the third floor, backside of the building. Well, back as in "the side not facing campus," because if you're ON that side it would seem to be the front and all, but for simplicity's sake, I'm calling it the backside of the building

Then a few weeks ago I moved to the SECOND floor on the [relative] frontside of the SAME building. [Not sharing space with so many people so it's smaller and I like it <3 Plus my roommate? Completely fabulous. Only awkward point is the ex-boyfriend across the hall who FLEES, apparently, when he seens me. =/]

So yesterday, walking in from class, etc, so on, so forth, dullness, listening to music and then....then I realize I'm five steps from the third floor on the [relative] backside of the building!

So, naturally, I face palm and waltz around the third floor and go down the steps next to my room. I know, it's not a thrilling story in the least, but I know some people will want to taunt me with it at least!

Other Notable Happenings:
1. Look at my previous entry. Look at the number of comments [currently 167]. I have -never in my life- had that many comments to a post in my LJ. Ever. My inbox? It died. I have it going through Thunderbird, checking like, every minute, I believe for that account and I was getting comment notifications in groups of between 4 and 6 every few minutes for a while. I loved it! *amused*
2. I do solemnly swear not to call Matt adorable.
3. Does anyone know where I can find jeans with like, striped [via seams] pant legs?
4. ...brain died. I swear there was more. Why does this always happen to me?! *headdesk*

[identity profile] themegaloo.livejournal.com 2006-08-31 06:52 am (UTC)(link)
Thanks. *smirk*

Oh yeah, of course. Because I mean, you ran out of other places to pile them, right? Do they dig into your back and make it difficult to sleep? *amused*

[identity profile] popcornlasers.livejournal.com 2006-08-31 06:54 am (UTC)(link)
What? Nonsense! Cool points aren't painful, they're awesome. What don't you have any of your own?

[identity profile] themegaloo.livejournal.com 2006-08-31 06:57 am (UTC)(link)
I thought all piled up like that they might be a bit lumpy though. And of course I do. Mine are just neatly put somewhere NOT my bed. And, alas, I am not from the future and don't wear goggles all the time, so I haven't got nearly so many as you. ;)

[identity profile] popcornlasers.livejournal.com 2006-08-31 06:58 am (UTC)(link)
Ah, well, that's a shame. And I don't pile them on my bed, they're on the floor in Mello's room, duh. Who said we slept in the bed all the time, eh?

[identity profile] themegaloo.livejournal.com 2006-08-31 07:02 am (UTC)(link)
Well, I generally sleep in a bed. Or on a couch. The floor just...isn't so very comfortable. And why sleep on it when there's a bed available, unless he has a room but no bed? *tilts head*

[identity profile] popcornlasers.livejournal.com 2006-08-31 07:07 am (UTC)(link)
Well we don't always fall asleep in the bed, I suppose. Not very often, though. But the couch isn't so bad. :D And I fall asleep working a lot. I'm used to that.

[identity profile] themegaloo.livejournal.com 2006-08-31 07:14 am (UTC)(link)
Ah, I follow. Mind, if I'm working on something, there's generally caffiene involved and thus falling asleep hopefully doesn't happen...

Boring classes make for good naptimes. Well, the big ones where you won't be noticed at least.

I fell asleep at my [very dull but paying] job once and then snored and woke myself up. That was somewhat amusing.

[identity profile] popcornlasers.livejournal.com 2006-08-31 08:54 pm (UTC)(link)
Well it doesn't happen often, but I tend to lose track of time when I'm working on something and every now and then I'll just...drift off.

I know, if I wasn't playing games in my old classes I was attempting to sleep through them.

Haha! Didn't get caught then, I take it?

[identity profile] themegaloo.livejournal.com 2006-08-31 09:45 pm (UTC)(link)
Thankfully, no. I mind a shop. I'm generally the only person here [which is wher I currently am] at all...Seriously. I've been here almost 4 hours now without a single sale. Pathetic, isn't it? Ah, well, I get paid regardless. And if I'm paid to sit on my ass and play on the internet, I'm alright with that.

Who wouldn't be, really?

[identity profile] popcornlasers.livejournal.com 2006-08-31 09:48 pm (UTC)(link)
Well that's convenient. :D What kind of shop do you run?

[identity profile] themegaloo.livejournal.com 2006-08-31 09:52 pm (UTC)(link)
Horse equipment. Lots of leather, so the place smells pretty great. But, well, not a huge demand for saddles, you know.

We have a giant plastic horse. It's mildly creepy.

[identity profile] popcornlasers.livejournal.com 2006-08-31 09:53 pm (UTC)(link)
A shop with horse equipment? Wow, that's kind of different. Not living in a big city, then?

How giant? o.o

[identity profile] themegaloo.livejournal.com 2006-09-01 02:17 am (UTC)(link)
No, pretty much the exact opposite. Tiny town. Well, I live in a slightly large town, but the place I work is a bit out from there.

And it's a horse-sized plastic horse. I could climb up on top of it if I wanted to. And could get up there without it falling over.

[identity profile] popcornlasers.livejournal.com 2006-09-01 02:27 am (UTC)(link)
Huh. I've never lived in a tiny town before. Well, I guess I lived in the English countryside for a while, but that wasn't even in a town, so...I don't think that counts.

That's...very nearly terrifying. Does it have the eyes painted in and everything? And is it facing you?

[identity profile] themegaloo.livejournal.com 2006-09-01 02:33 am (UTC)(link)
It is a bit odd. I've never lived in a really BIG city, per se, but nothing quite this small. I mean, they've not even got a stoplight, just a caution light.

Yes! It has eyes and everything. And the mouth can move!. Thankfully, no it doesn't face me, it's sideways in front of me, blocking my entire view of the door.

[identity profile] popcornlasers.livejournal.com 2006-09-01 03:41 am (UTC)(link)
Tokyo and New York are both pretty big. I can't really imagine living in a place without even a stoplight.

That's terrifying! Do people ever sneak up behind it to scare you? Because I would. >D

[identity profile] themegaloo.livejournal.com 2006-09-01 03:43 am (UTC)(link)
...you're implying that people come in my shop.

I think iw ould enjoy that. Breat the godamned monatany of it all, really.

[identity profile] popcornlasers.livejournal.com 2006-09-01 03:53 am (UTC)(link)
How does it stay in business if no one ever comes in? D:

Haha, now that's sad.

[identity profile] themegaloo.livejournal.com 2006-09-01 04:14 am (UTC)(link)
Almost as sad as the number of typos in my last comment. Ouch.

And I suppose it's because a- the shops not my employer's only source of income, and b- horse equipement is damned expensive. Make a decent sale, and the shop's getting a good sized chunk of change. So the quality of sales is what keeps it afloat.

[identity profile] popcornlasers.livejournal.com 2006-09-01 04:32 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah, I saw that. :D Tired?

Well that works out nicely, then. Are you paid a lot?

[identity profile] themegaloo.livejournal.com 2006-09-01 04:39 am (UTC)(link)
Not particularly. Blind, apparently.

Decently. Hourly. More than minimum wage, which is $5.15/hr currently. I get $7/hr. Dunno how that matches up against your cool FUTURE time.

Oh, and did you see this (http://lilapotter.livejournal.com/195708.html) by chance? I thought you might find it amusing.

[identity profile] popcornlasers.livejournal.com 2006-09-01 04:53 am (UTC)(link)
I dunno minumum wage today--I assume you're talking about in the States?--as I've never worked for it. I pull a few hundred American dollars a job as a minumum--lower-paying jobs usually aren't worth it unless they're particularly fun--and that's plenty to support me and Mello, though he works when he can too. I don't think I could ever work a steady job like you do.

And I did. :D I found it particularly amusing--and thanks for the compliment, by the way. If there were a manga or something about you I would be sure to check it out.

[identity profile] themegaloo.livejournal.com 2006-09-01 05:10 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah, the States. And I never really meant to get the job at all, honestly. I was just sitting in class one day when a classmate just went "Hey, do you want a job?" and I blinked and went "Sure!" and there it was.

Doesn't sound like a bad life, really. Not one I could live, both because of lack of skill in any area of that nature and lack of oppotunity. Note: small town.

More than welcome of course. And now that makes me wish there was manga or something about me. XD Though I doubt it would be interesting. Unless it were just the saga of stupid things that happen in my life. And by stupid, I mean stupid.

Maybe it will boost some of my flist into actually posting to my journal.

Speaking of. Would you mind if I friended you?

[identity profile] popcornlasers.livejournal.com 2006-09-01 05:16 am (UTC)(link)
Well at least you didn't have to go out and find one. That's the most difficult part.

No, I think it's all right. Sometimes I get requests from people I'd rather not deal with, but I get to pick and choose which jobs I accept so it's not too bad--unless the pickings are slim and I'm desperate, but that hasn't happened in over a year now. :D

I fail to see how a manga about me is interesting at all. I haven't done much--certainly not anything worthy of a story--and I'm not all that special. The whole idea is kind of weird.

Go ahead. :D I already friended you.

[identity profile] themegaloo.livejournal.com 2006-09-01 05:40 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah, lucky chance, that was. I hate having to go around saying "PLS HIRE MEEEE," yuck.

Glad it's all going well. Being desparate isn't good. Especially if it goes hand-in-hand with being hungry.

It was a pretty all-encompassing story line. If it were possible to send to you, I would. Just for novelty's sake. Do you reckon it is?

Ah, thanks! I've done so now.

I'm about to officially get lazy on picking icons out for each comment. I think I've used almost every single one I have.
